Class 11, CONTINUING TO LEVEL UP IN WoW

More leveling up! You'll notice I've got a bunch of pictures of me with animals running past me. I tried to see how many random animals I could find. :)

Still have a pumpkin head from last time.

Watching the soldiers ride by.

Some tower filled with people.

Up to the tower library.

Leaving the tower to go find a quest.

Fighting the creatures living around the mine.

Investigating a mine.

Look, the soldiers again!

Getting another quest.

Level 8!

Checking out the river.

Look a frog!

And a bear!

Getting another quest.

Investigating a new town.

Ohh a cow!

And a deer!

Wondering how big the trees are that require such a large saw.

Shh, I'm hiding from the creatures who live here looking for stuff.

Level 9!

I'd like a pet mammoth too!

Or something I could fly, that would be cool too.

Finding a new tower.

Visting the inside of the tower.

Conducting an investigation.

Or maybe I'd like a dragon...

Police crime scene bot looks real helpful.

Looking for treasure near a pirate ship.

Further investigation now that I have more clues.

Level 10!

CLASS 11, FINAL PROJECT STEP 5, IMMERSIVE LIBRARIES AND MUSEUMS

Summary of the
Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group (LAM.TWG) CHARTER

The Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group (LAM.TWG) Charter provides some very useful information about the thought process that the working group has gone through to date and great insight into the current challenges that the group is attempting to work through.

Collaboration has become an integral part of the practice of both students and also learners of less traditional types as well. Not only that, but recently available digitization of assets, changing techniques and tools and the need for the personalization of the experience has lead for the need for librarians and museum professionals alike to look to move past the physical building and into a virtual world.

A virtual world could allow for these professionals to engage their communities in new ways. It could allow for a richer augmented experience as well as connecting to new people who would not be able to reach the physical space. Virtual worlds are a unique space for expanding audience’s ability to interaction with and share their own experiences about the objects and information.

The Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group of the Immersive Education Initiative has been set up to investigate emerging technologies to be able to support this end user experience as well as options for the professionals in those fields to work together in useful ways. Also, the Working Group plans to share these techniques with professionals who are not part of the working group and to provide the framework for those unable to study these technologies and techniques on their own by publishing findings and maintaining a digital library.

Class 11, FINAL PROJECT Step 1,Testing Building in Meshmoon

I found a sandbox instance of a space to test in Meshmoon called Sandbox1, it took me a little while to find one that gave me build access mostly because a few dev environments didn't seem to allow for other people to do dev.

After that it was relatively simple to add things into the world. Here are some examples of what I was doing:

Adding content

Playing with a web page I added to the world.

I dropped the page once I was done.

And deleted it because it wasn't my world to leave things in.

Now trying some 3D text & changing the color.

You can barely see it here, I hadn't dropped the text yet, but it is a bit in front of me.

Walking around the text I dropped in place.
